Operation Zero Crime: Police Arrest 20 Suspects

Police have in a statement announced that they have arrested 25 suspected criminals at various places in the Greater Banjul Area on the fourth day of the newly instituted ‘Operation Zero Crime’.

“A total number of 25 people were arrested at various criminal hideouts,” the statement mentioned.

It also stated that 6 suspects have been arrested in Banjul, 19 in Kanifing Municipality and none in the West Coast Region.

Going armed in public; possession of suspected drugs; possession of suspected stolen properties; attempt to commit felony; breaking and stealing are the offences committed by the suspects, according to the statement.

‘Operation Zero Crime’ has been recently instituted by the police with objective to tackle crime and criminal activities within communities, and dismantle all criminal hideouts, as well as prosecute offenders in accordance with the Law, according to the police.
