The Public Relation officer of the ‘No To Alliance’ independent group of candidates has accused the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) of offering bribes to their candidates to entice them to join them or withdraw from the race.

“They Keep tapping on our candidates especially the ones in the KM area. They are offering them money to join them instead of contesting for us. They have money in their bags, offering them money to switch their allegiance or withdraw. Our candidates are not accepting it because we say no to the NPP alliance. Three of our candidates are complaining,” Pa Modou Mboowe spokesperson of ‘No To Alliance’ told Kerr Fatou.

Reacting to the allegations of bribery, in a telephone conversation with Kerr Fatou, Media, and communication Secretary for the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), Sulayman Camara, describes the allegations as baseless and challenges  ‘No To Alliance’ to come up with evidence.

“We are in Political season, how can you buy anyone? Everyone is free in this country. We will continue to encourage everyone from other political parties to come and join NPP and we will continue doing it whether during political seasons or not. But to say we entice people with money to join us is completely false. But we will respectfully continue to tell everyone to come to join our party. Everyone is free in this country and we don’t even have money to buy people. These are baseless allegations against NPP, it is made to tarnish our image. Let them come up with evidence if they have any,” he said.
