The Gambia Police Force have announced the arrest of a Nigerian woman on suspicion of trafficking Nigerian women to the Gambia on the pretext of offering them lucrative jobs.
“A systematic investigation process, led by Police detectives, has tracked down a fifty-two-year-old Nigerian woman who is allegedly notorious for trafficking her fellow nationals in The Gambia on the pretext of offering them lucrative jobs,” the police said on Wednesday afternoon.
The Police added that their investigation into the incident further revealed that the accused Nigerian woman compels her victims into sex work to be able to pay a sum of D250, 000 as travel expenses of her victims.
