Police Chief Disciplinary Officer (CDO), Superintendent Dawda Jobe, has advised the young police officers to be disciplined in the execution of their duties to avoid facing disciplinary measures.
“The advice I am giving to the young ones, especially the young police officers, is, let them be disciplined. Discipline is the backbone of service, not only service, even the civil sector, even in our homes, without discipline nothing will work. So let’s try to bear, and let’s try to take all lawful orders to make sure that we respect our authorities, we respect our seniors, and then let’s have a good character and then be also mindful of our conduct; especially the way we perform our police duties. Let them adhere to the police code of conduct. My role is to enforce the police code of conduct. (Being disciplined) they will not do anything to put them on charges,” he told Kerr Fatou.
The GPF Chief Disciplinary Officer who is promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police effective 1st August 2022, disclosed that his promotion makes him feel ‘motivated’ at work.
“I feel motivated to work harder and carry out my functions more efficiently so as to strengthen the confidence the IGP and the police command has in me in the delivery of my service,” the new Superintendent added.
Supt. Jobe who has also attended a VIP training and the United Nations Police training course in Sweden had served as an Instructor and Regimental Sergeant Major at the police training school for 12 years, prior to this development.
As GPF Chief Disciplinary Officer, the Superintendent is responsible of enforcing the police code of conduct, checking officers and police stations, as well as ensuring strict adherence to and respect for regimentation between the officers within the police force, the police said in statement on Thursday, while announcing Jobe’s promotion to Superintendent of Police, from the rank of Assistant Superintendent.
