“During his visit, Hon. Gomez and his team were taken on a guided tour by the Alkalo of Gunjur and some members of the community. We are pleased to inform you that a site has been identified, and thus, we look forward to working with the community elders to finalise the allocation and our development partners for the construction phase to begin,” the ministry said through their Facebook page.Once operational, the TVET Centre on Fisheries will offer programs in the following areas: fisheries management, fishing and fish handling, gear technology, post-harvest technology and processing, and aquaculture.

The ministry also said that the center will provide opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship in the fisheries sector, as well as develop relevant capacity for the management and development of the fisheries sector in The Gambia.
