The Minister of Local Government, Lands and Religious Affairs Musa Drammeh has urged the people of Upper River Region (URR) to boycott the campaign meetings of opposition candidates.

“Some people said that the work President Barrow did in URR should not be here. Almost everyone heard this statement, so use your minds before giving out your vote. Someone who said he or she does not want your progress and development, should that person come to you and tell you to vote for him or her? So when they come here, boycott them. Let them not see even one person, nor tell you what they came for,” Drammeh said.

The Local Government, Lands and Religious AffairssaidPresident Barrow would not campaign in the region, especially in Kantora because his development projects there speak for him.

The Local Government, Lands and Religious Affairs made these remarks on Monday during President Barrow’s National People’s Party (NPP) meeting at Koina Village in Kantora District in the Upper River Region.

President Adama Barrow, the standard-bearer of the National People’s Party (NPP) currently canvassing votes would on December 4 lock horns with his former party and main opposition, the UDP; PDOIS; GDC; National Unity Party; and Essa Mbye Faal, the independent candidate.

Barrow who came through a coalition in 2016 is seeking a second term, while each of his 5 opposition candidates is looking for a maiden term in State House.
