The attention of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs has been drawn to reports online that the National Assembly canceled its planned Monday session because “the Minister of Finance failed to show up”.
We wish to clarify that such reports are entirely false. The cancellation of the tabling of the Revised Budget took place at the direction of the National Assembly.
The Ministry of Finance, under the leadership of Honorable Mambury Njie, has always accorded the highest degree of great respect to the august body. The Ministry shows up anytime the parliament calls; sometimes, at a day’s notice.
