Talib Ahmed Bensouda, the Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), has been recognized by the Soninkara Youth Community in New York City for his exemplary leadership and commitment to public service.
In a statement, the Kanifing Municipal Council highlighted the reasons for the award:
“The award celebrates Mayor Bensouda’s transformative efforts in governance, infrastructure development, and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents. Under his leadership, Kanifing Municipality has seen significant progress in waste management, urban planning, and youth empowerment programs,” KMC said in a statement.
The Soninkara Youth Community lauded Mayor Bensouda as an inspiring leader whose vision and dedication continue to drive positive change.
“The recognition solidifies his reputation as The People’s Mayor, a title embraced by many for his dedication to grassroots development. In response, Mayor Bensouda expressed gratitude to the community for the honor and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Kanifing Municipality with transparency, innovation, and inclusivity.” the statement reads.
