Rohey Malick Lowe, the Mayor of Banjul City Council (BCC), has been designated as the Special Ambassador for the Global Women in Finance Leading Summit 2025 (GWFLS2025) and beyond.
The summit provides a powerful platform for women leaders to showcase their corporate leadership, visibility, and willingness to engage with emerging markets in Africa and beyond, breaking through glass ceilings.
“Dear friends, colleagues, and fellow Banjul citizens, I am happy and honoured to announce my designation as the Special Ambassador for the Global Women in Finance Leading Summit 2025 (GWFLS2025) and beyond! When I first heard the news, I must admit that I performed a little celebration dance (though I won’t share that with you today)! Being entrusted with this responsibility, advocating for women in finance on a global scale, is really humbling. This is more than just a title; it is a tremendous responsibility and a mission to continue for me: empowering women and fostering financial leadership,” Mayor Lowe shared on her Facebook page.
Mayor Lowe emphasized the importance of women’s representation in finance, not only for gender equality but also because women provide unique, compelling perspectives that lead to real development.
“Now, as Special Ambassador, I get to help shape the future of this critical discourse on a worldwide scale. Heartfelt gratitude to the entire management of the Africa Global Chamber of Commerce under the leadership of Dr. Olivier Kamanzi. To my beloved Banjul people, this is our honour, not just mine. It’s a moment that demonstrates how far our wonderful city has come and the potential that we all possess. From Banjul to the world! So brace yourself, because GWFLS2025 and beyond will be an incredible adventure,” Rohey Malick Lowe concluded.
