Mahamadou Ceesay, the Chairman of Basse Area Council, was elected unopposed as the president of the Gambia Association of Local Government Authorities (GALGA) at a congress in Mansakonko.
“We are pleased to announce that the Honourable Chairman of the Basse Area Council, Mahamadou Ceesay, has been elected unopposed as the new President of the Gambia Association of Local Government Authorities -GALGA’ at a Congress held in Mansakonko on Thursday, July 20, 2023,” Basse Area Council wrote on their Facebook page after his election.
Mahamadou Ceesay has replaced Landing B. Sanneh, chairman of Mansakonko Area Council, as President of GALGA. Sanneh served in the role for four years.
