MA Bah resigns from APRC

The last interior minister of Gambia’s former dictator Yahya Jammeh, Momodou A. Bah, has resigned from the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction party.

Bah announced his resignation from the party in a letter written to Fabakary Tombong Jatta dated Monday 10 September.

“I therefore wish you, the party leader, and all the APRC party militants the best of luck and also apologise to all those who gave their time and support to me during my short time in the party,” a part of the letter states.

Bah said he has made his decision after a ‘thoughtful consideration’ and in ‘close consultation’ with his family members and close associates.

The former military man has had some tough relations with the leadership of the APRC especially Tombong Jatta.

Some months ago, the leadership of the party accused him of staging an internal coup to make himself the leader of the party.

Bah however said it was Jammeh who instructed him to lead the party.
