Fatou Touray, Chief Executive Officer of Gambia’s online medium- Kerr Fatou, is among the ‘50 Most Influential Persons’ in West Africa.
The annual ranking by Influences Magazine that features influential personalities in West Africa also featured those in North Africa, this year.
The ranking placed CEO Touray (the only Gambian in the list), alongside the King of Morocco, star players- Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, 4 African Presidents, speakers/presidents of parliament/senate, ministers, mayors, media personnel, among others, in West and North Africa.
“They shine, they invent, they annoy, they inspire, they engage. Africans exert in the world a form of soft persuasion, a soft power linked to style, culture, economy, sport or science. And once again…,” the Magazine said in a statement while paying tribute to them.
The statement added that the 50 persons have an undeniable and decisive influence on the progress of Africa (that is to say outside the borders of their countries of origin), either by using their position of power and their power as a springboard for realizing their ambitions, either by weighing through their financial or intellectual scope on the choices of the markets and those of public opinion.
The criteria for the selection of the 50 persons include their profile (skills), the impact of their activities on the community, and their notoriety, the Influences Magazine’s statement continued.
