Sheriffo Sonko, Chairman Brikama Area Council

Sheriffo Sonko, Chairman of the Brikama Area Council says it is a lie to say he is not interested in seeking re-election for a second term in the upcoming Brikama Area Council Chairmanship Elections.
“Why are people peddling misinformation about that? Sheriffo Sonko doesn’t want to Contest? Who told you that? It is a lie, sheriffo did not discuss that with anyone. Sheriffo is ready and prepared to Contest under NPP ticket,” he said.
Chairman Sheriffo Sonko also refutes allegations that primaries have already been conducted for NPP candidates;
“To those who are peddling around that there was an NPP primary today is also misinformation. NPP didn’t conduct any primary yet to select its candidate for the Chairmanship election in the West Coast Region or anywhere across the country yet. Please stop lying, it is not good. Sheriffo Sonko is ready to go for re-election. May Allah the lord of seven heavens give Brikama area council Chairmanship to Sherifo Sonko again. Ameen,” he concluded.
Sheriffo Sonko is the incumbent chairman of the Brikama Area Council (BAC) however eight people have applied for his party’s candidature to contest for his position ahead of the election.
