IEC Registers Nearly 200 Thousand Voters In Ten Days

The Independent Electoral Commission [IEC] has announced that it has registered 191, 509 people within ten days.

The IEC said it has registered 6,659 in Banjul; of which 3,416 are females and 3,243 are males.

In Kanifing 45, 453 people have been registered, of which 24,813 are females and 20, 640 are males.

In Brikama 60, 636 have been registered, of which 34, 524 are females and 26, 112 are males.

In Kerewan 9, 815 have been registered, of which 5, 404 are females and 4, 411 are males.

In Mansakonko 22, 193 have been registered, of which 12, 940 are females and 9, 253 are males.

In Janjanbureh 24, 747 have been registered, of which 14, 582 are females and 10, 165 are males.

In Basse 22, 006 have been registered, of which 13, 996 are females and 8, 010 are males.

The above amounts to 191, 509 people all together within ten days of which 109, 675 are females and 81, 834 are males.

The Commission started the general voter registration process on 29th May and will complete on 11th July 2021. The commission hopes to register 1.2 million voters during the period for the 4th December 2021.
