The Governor of the Central Bank of the Gambia,
Bakary Jammeh has confirmed the story broken by this medium on Friday reporting that he has declined the job offer of Minister of Trade and had expressed his desire to serve out his contract at the CBG.

Using trusted sources Kerr Fatou broke the story with documentary proof including a letter Mr Jammeh addressed to the President drawing his attention to the terms of his contract. The letter was widely shared on social media. However the Information  Minister Ebrima Sillah claimed the governor had denied Writing the letter which was circulating on the Social Media.

Kerr Fatou contacted the Governor on the phone for clarification and he replied: “I am the one who wrote the letter being circulated online though am not sure how it got online. But I can confirm that I wrote it and I intend to serve out my contract which only ends in May 2022,”Governor Jammeh told Kerr Fatou.


In anycase Kerr Fatou stands by the story. Governor Jammeh had declined the offer and had questioned the legality of his removal or transfer as has been reported by this medium on Friday
