During a stop in Sinchu Alagie as part of the ongoing “Meet the People” tour, Special Adviser to the President, Momodou Sabally, took the podium to caution Gambian youth against what he described as the mistake of replacing President Barrow with any other candidate ahead of the 2026 elections.

While the tour has faced criticism for potentially wasting state resources, President Barrow’s supporters argue that it presents an invaluable opportunity for him to gather direct feedback on the state of the nation and to present his government’s policies and initiatives to the public.

Addressing the crowd in Sinchu Alagie, Sabally responded to questions about Barrow’s potential third-term bid by stating unequivocally that the discussion of a third term is no longer relevant. Instead, he emphasized that the focus is now on negotiating a fourth term for President Barrow.“Gambian youth cannot make a mistake of exchanging President Barrow for anyone else because nobody can develop this country better than he is currently doing. It’s obvious, Barrow’s third term bid is not negotiable because he is not going anywhere. If people talked to you about President Barrow’s third term, tell them we are no longer talking about his third term again. We are currently busy negotiating for him to run for a fourth term. Barrow is here to stay as he brought an unprecedented level of development in the country which is indisputable” Sabally stated.

He argued that the President has made significant improvements in the education sector, healthcare, infrastructure, and electricity, which he emphasized are now accessible to everyone, regardless of their location.

“President Barrow has built unprecedented numbers of schools across the country. Health sector and electricity is in the reach of all across various communities. Road infrastructure is magnificently seen in all part of the country. What more can we ask from the President. Certainly, President Barrow has exceptionally done tremendous developments across the length and breadth of this country so, we cannot exchange him for anyone else” Sabally argued.

The Presidential Adviser added that his principal has made traveling easier for youth by creating a good diplomatic circular migration agreement with Kingdom of Spain and Saudi to create job opportunities and better living standards for all.

“If we stick to the agreement and do things as expected, President Barrow can bring more travel opportunities for youth beyond what we expected. Gambian youth should embrace President Barrow because he has done something for them that no other President has ever done in the history of this country. It’s only President Barrow who created clear and honest travel means for youth to go for outside opportunities, passing through the National Assembly for transparency and accountability purposes. On behalf of the Gambian youth, I am telling President Barrow we are very happy with him” Sabally charged.

In a fascinating tone, Sabally told the gathering, What Barrow achieved in this country, Paul Kagame of Rwanda has not done for his people.

“Paul Kagame is currently on his fourth term, and we are all clapping for him for the developments he registered in his country. Be rest assured, what President Barrow achieved in this country surpassed Paul Kagame’s efforts in Rwanda. Let’s be realistic and give the badge of development to President Barrow because no can do it like him” He reiterated.
