Gambia’s President, Adama Barrow, due to the general internet outage in the country yesterday, missed the Extra Ordinary Summit of the Economic Community of West African States [ECOWAS] held virtually.
“H. E President Adama Barrow could not attend the ECOWAS Extra Ordinary Summit, because of the internet outage nationwide, yesterday. The internet problem occurred about half an hour before the video conference started at 2:00 GMT, and lasted for hours while the Summit was on,” the Director of Press and Public Relations [DPPR] at State House disclosed.
Exactly a month after a similar incident on January 1, yesterday the country again experienced at least 6 hours nationwide internet outage which hampered services mainly dependent on the service.
