Gambia ranks behind Senegal on W/B Ease of Doing Business Index

The Gambia has been ranked 149 out of 190 countries in the world that are suitable for doing business in the 2019 World Bank Ease of Doing Business Index.

The country falls eight places behind its neighbor Senegal that scored 141 ranking with a score point of 54 while Gambia scores 51.

The World Bank annual ratings ranks countries based on how easy it is to start business there and how well the economy is doing.

The rank of the Gambia has slumped to 146 in 2017 from 145 in 2016.

The Gambia scores 169 ranking at starting a business, 160 ranking at access to electricity, 169 at higher tax rate, 165 at protecting minority investors, 113 at trading across borders and 128 at resolving insolvency.
