The Gambia Police Force (GPF) wishes to inform the general public that it would continue the regular police patrol around the country effective immediately.

Routine Patrol, which is a customary practice of the police and a substitute for defunct unofficial checkpoints, is aimed at maintaining the already existing relationship and coexistence between the police and the public while putting in place proactive mechanisms for the mitigation and prevention of crimes.

As a common practice, the patrol will enhance improved police visibility and other necessary community policing-related interventions. Accordingly, patrol officers will be deployed along the roads and other public utility areas to ensure a free, safe, and convenient environment for all and sundry.

While this exercise is ongoing, the general public is urged to go about their regular businesses without any unwarranted panic and fear.
