Ruger pistol with six 9mm rounds recovered by the police.

The Gambia Police Force has announced that its Tourism Security Unit has arrested a 35-year-old man from Cape Point during a highway patrol search of vehicles around the tourism areas on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
The man, identified as Muhammed Sosseh, was arrested after police found a loaded Ruger pistol with six 9mm rounds in the vehicle he was driving. Sosseh’s passenger, Ebrahim, managed to escape the scene during the search.
“The pistol, a “Ruger” type, was loaded with six 9mm live rounds when it was discovered in a vehicle. During the search, one of the two people in the vehicle managed to escape the scene, leaving the driver behind.”
Sosseh is currently in police custody and is cooperating with the investigation. He claims that the pistol belongs to Ebrahim, who he says recently arrived from America.
The police are continuing their efforts to apprehend Ebrahim.
“The driver, Muhammed Sosseh, who is currently in police custody, claimed that the pistol belongs to his colleague. He mentioned that the colleague had recently arrived from America,” the police announced on Saturday.
