Gambia Gov’t Approves D9.7M For The Scorpions Match Against Congo

The Gambia government, through the Ministry of Youths and Sports, has approved 9.7 million dalasis for the Gambia national football team’s upcoming match against Congo.

“The government of the Gambia through the Ministry of Youth and Sports has approved D9.7M for the country’s last and final game against Congo. This came Following the submission of a budget by the Gambia Football Federation for the match in qualifiers for the AFCON 2024 to be played in Ivory Coast from 13th January to 11th February 2024,” the government announced.

The government has affirmed that the funds have already been transferred to the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) to facilitate payments for flight tickets, hotel expenses, and the team’s allowances.

The Gambia, currently in second place behind Mali in Group G of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, is confident of making it to the continent’s biggest football event for the second time.
