The Ministry of Petroleum, Energy, and Mines has confirmed the arrival and distribution of gasoline following a temporary shortage that affected the country for several days.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, the ministry assured the public that the delayed fuel shipment had successfully docked at Gam Petroleum and was now being distributed to petrol stations across the country.
“The Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines is pleased to inform the general public that the delayed shipment of Gasoline (Petrol) has arrived and been successfully docked at Gam Petroleum on Tuesday 11th February 2025. The fuel has been discharged and distributed to petrol stations. As a result, petrol is now widely and readily available for purchase, and the temporary shortage has been resolved,” the ministry announced.
To further stabilize the supply chain, the ministry also announced that it had opened a one-week window for overland fuel importation, with trucks already arriving in the country.
“Therefore, we are pleased to confirm that the supply chain has been restored and the Ministry kindly urges the public to not engage in panic buying. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the temporary shortage. The Ministry remains committed to ensuring a stable and reliable supply of petroleum products in the country to meet the needs of all citizens. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and implement proactive measures to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply in the future,” the statement concluded.
