“Since its creation in August 1996, the United Democratic Party has placed itself as the most potent tool for the actualization of a better Gambia. The Gambia where rights will be respected, and people will live a dignified and prosperous life.
“Several men and women, even when times were tough under the dictatorship, have volunteered their time to steer the leadership of this great party. They never failed to aspire for a better Gambia. That struggle, for a greater part, was for and of the struggle of the young people who filled the ranks of this party.
“It is for that reason that I feel honoured that I am counted as those who have answered to this Call of Duty to the Gambia. Though for a short time, I feel honoured to have served the party as a Nation Youth President from 2018 to 2022.
“I had the privilege to work with the leadership of our party in all areas relating to youth empowerment and increasing youth involvement in politics.
“Together we encouraged and ensured the engagement of our young people in promoting the values of our party through training and workshops.
“We participated in protecting the environment through tree planting across the country. We promoted sports in the form of regional football competitions.
“The youths also participated in organising Solo Sandeng day as the icon of the 2016 political change. We also organised a successful youth congress in 2018 and 2020 respectively.
