Fass Njaga Choi Robbery: PIU Officer Shot and Had Rifle Taken From Him

Police PRO Cadet ASP Binta Njie has confirmed that one of their men was shot and his rifle taken away from him during a suspected robbery in Fass Njaga Choi in the early hours of Sunday.

“There was an armed attack at the PIU checkpoint in Fass Njaga Choi in the early hours of this morning, around 4 am. One of our men was shot and his rifle taken away from him by the suspected robbers. Two other Civilians, one is said to be 59 years from Kanuma and another 48 years from Fass Chao were equally assaulted and some of their valuables taken. At the checkpoint, there is a shop owned by one Muhammed Jahateh that was also broken into and thirty thousand CFA was taken away from his shop. We have made arrests and the suspect is currently in our custody helping us with the investigation. The arrested suspect is a resident of Fass Njaga Choi,” Police PRO Cadet ASP Binta Njie told Kerr Fatou on Sunday.

The suspected robbery happened in North Bank Region’s village of Fass Njaga Choi in the early hours of Sunday.
