Fashion Weekend Gambia is the leading Gambian fashion event providing a consistent platform to display new and emerging designers, models, make-up artists, and photographers from the Gambia and attracting creative startups and audiences from all over the world.
Lena Nian, co-founder of the fashion weekend Gambia said FWG Started in 2012 featured only a handful of designers. The brand has grown tremendously over the years hosting scores of designers annually, providing quality training and mentorship programmes for its creative beneficiaries.
“We have 20 designers for this year’s runway and we are ready to empower and expose these young talented designers in and outside the Gambian,” she added.
Soma Njie, talked about this year’s theme that is sustainability, something she said Gambians need to sustain their tradition and culture.
“This prompted us to identify people who could work on the final touches to make sure that Gambian products are able to compete both nationally and internationally “she added.
Moses Ann who is also part of the designers expressed gratitude for being part of the FWG and he called on Gambians and residents in The Gambia to come forward and support these young talented designers because this is all about Gambian things and it will also generate income for the Country.
