The leader of Citizens’ Alliance (CA) has said that his party’s partnership with the National People’s Party (NPP) is for the “best interest” of the Gambia.
“We sat at an executive level and decided that we want to support the president agenda. How? Within the context of the next local government elections, we are going to form an alliance for local government election, but also use our manifesto, and our ideas, our knowledge and our vision as in the 10 point-plan, work with the NPP, also their ideas, their manifesto, their vision, combined it to the best interest of this country,” Dr. Ismaila Ceesay said after meeting the President Barrow on Saturday.
He said their Saturday visit was meant to finalise their partnership with the president’s camp.
“So we came here obviously to finalise that CA has on executive level decided to work together with the NPP, to put resources together, to put ideas together, to put knowledge together, to build this country for the interest of the Gambia. This was an executive decision by the Citizens’ Alliance including our regional chairpersons. It was a very inclusive meeting. So, is a partnership Alliance with the NPP for the interest of this country. Let me emphasise that we see The Gambia first. It’s not about Dr Ismaila Ceesay, it’s not about President Barrow, it’s about The Gambia,” he concluded.
