The Public Relations Officer of the Gambia Police Force (GPF), ASP Binta Njie Jatta, has confirmed that Presidential Political Adviser Dou Sannoh has been charged with Common Assault and Willful Damage to Property at the Bakadagi Police Station.
The charges against Sannoh stem from a brawl that took place between GDC supporters and Sannoh in Sara Talata. The GDC reported Sannoh to the police after the incident.
“He is charged with Common Assault and Willful Damage to Property,” police PRO ASP Binta Njie Jatta told Kerr Fatou.
The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) reacting to the report, says Presidential Adviser Dou Sannoh has been released on bail and is expected to report to the police station.
The GDC also released a statement on the incident.

“Complainant, Hon. Ebrima Faye Manneh, GDC Julangel Ward Councilor Candidate, accused Dou Sannoh, president Barrow’s Adviser, of assault. He is facing two criminal charges.

2. WILLFUL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
“The accused is out on bail and asked to report back. One Saja, a carpenter, stood as his surety to free him from the police on bail. Rules for one are rules for all. A lesson is learned by the president’s adviser,” the GDC administrative Secretary said in a statement to Kerr Fatou.
