President Adama Barrow’s Political Adviser Dou Sannoh has accused the country’s opposition parties of being behind the postponed November Protest.
“It was politically motivated because I heard UDP militants advocating for countrywide demonstration. They informed people to come out and bring along their cooking pots. You are saying you are demonstrating for the people and the politicians are going behind thinking about cooking pots and food. It’s all politically motivated. That’s why people didn’t mind them. That’s why people were sitting and waiting for them, and the people sitting and waiting are more than those that wanted to demonstrate. Just look at their executive, you have politicians among them. My brother MC Cham is part of them, and he is a politician, you have others who came from other political parties.” Dou Sannoh told Star Fm on Friday.
The Coalition of Progressive Gambians (CoPG), postponed their planned November 11th protest, despite their demands not being met by the Government of the Gambia; saying the government has agreed to open doors to dialogue.
The postponement came following two days of meetings the pressure group had with the Supreme Islamic Council, Peace Network, and representatives of the Government.
