The operatives of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (DLEAG) arrested 6 suspects with suspected Cocaine and Cannabis Sativa.
The arrests were conducted by the agency’s Kanifing Municipal Regional Command on Friday, according to a statement by the agency.
“The Drug Law Enforcement Agency, The Gambia (DLEAG’s) Kanifing Municipal Regional Command clutched one [the 1st suspect], 58 years old Gambian national and a notorious drug dealer on Friday 8th October 2021 around 15:20 hours GMT onwards, with twenty-one (21) wraps of suspected cocaine in Banjul,” the statement said on Monday.
“[The 2nd suspect ], a Gambian national was arrested on the 10th October 2021 around 21:45 hours GMT onwards at Old Jeshwang with two (2) big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa. The said suspected cannabis was wrapped with brown papers and concealed in a military-like camouflage bag. The means of conveyance was a Rexton vehicle with registration number…,” it added.
It also informed that the third and fourth suspects have been arrested on 10th October 2021 around 20:00 hours GMT at Dippa Kunda with nine (9) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa.
“The [9 bundles o] suspected cannabis sativa [from the 3rd and 4th suspects] were wrapped with brown papers, concealed in a used white rice bag, and covered with a black nylon bag,” the statement stated.
“[the 5th suspect] was also arrested with five (5) parcels and six (6) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa at Kerr Sering; while [the sixth suspect] was arrested with one (1) big bundle of suspected cannabis sativa at Latrikunda German,” it further stated
DLEAG called on the public to share information on suspicious “criminal activities” with law enforcement operatives, while it investigates the above cases.
