CA Followed Due Process In Communicating Suspension Decision

Dr. Ismalia Ceesay, SG & Party Leader Citizens Alliance

The Citizens’ Alliance (CA) have learned through an article on Kerr Fatou online media that our suspended Spokesperson, Ms. Nenneh Freda Gomez, has stated that she was not duly informed about the decision of her suspension from the CA National Executive Council (CNEC) for the remainder of the current Congress.

In the interest of transparency and accountability, CA would like to inform its membership and the public that due process was followed to ensure Ms. Gomez was duly informed prior to issuing the press release announcing her suspension. A formal email was sent to her email on 27th July 2022 at 12:37 AM GMT. The Accountability Report was also shared in the CNEC internal chat group, and metadata subsequently showed that Ms. Gomez saw the pdf report at 04:36 AM GMT. A press release was then shared with the CA membership and the general public at 10:10 AM GMT.

It is hoped that this matter is now fully addressed with this latest release. Ms. Gomez has a right to appeal the suspension decision and CA will accord full transparency and urgency to an appeal letter from Ms. Gomez.

Sincerely,

CA Secretariat
