Sainabou Martin, CEO Kanifing Municipal Council

Through a transfer letter from the Ministry of Lands Regional Governments and Religious Affairs seen by Kerr Fatou, the Chief Executive officer of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) has been transferred to Kerewan Area Council in the North Bank Region.
According to the letter, the decision to transfer the KMC CEO Sainabou Matin Sonko was reached by the Local Government Service Commission at their recent meeting held on Friday 26th May 2023.
The letter conveyed the following directives to Mrs Martin- Sonko:
“1. I am informing you with great pleasure that your services are been transferred to Kerewan Area Council with immediate effect.
“2. Further, you are required to prepare detailed and comprehensive handing Over notes and carry out your handing over by Friday 2nd June 2023 instant.
“3. You are to report to your new Council of posting not later than Monday 5th June 2023,” it’s States.
Mrs. Sainabou Martin Sonko has had a controversial tenure at KMC during which she was suspended for alleged corruption and her case was the subject of a huge push and pull between the government and the Talib Bensouda led administration at the KMC.
