Binta Njie, the outgoing Public Relations Officer of the Gambia Police Force, bid farewell to her role at the force’s public relations office on Friday, April 5, 2024.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Cadet ASP Binta Njie expressed profound thanks to her supporters for their encouragement during her tenure as the Public Relations Officer of the Gambia Police Force.
“As I officially hand over The public relations office of The Gambia Police Force to her successor, Cadet ASP Modou Musa Sisawo, and reflect on my time serving as the Public Relations Officer, I am humbled by the opportunity to have worked alongside dedicated individuals committed to safeguarding our nation’s security. At this pivotal moment of transition, I extend my deepest gratitude to those who have supported me throughout this journey,” she wrote.
Njie extended sincere appreciation to former Inspector General of Police, Abdoulie Sanyang, for appointing her and providing exemplary leadership and guidance. She expressed confidence in Sanyang’s future endeavors as Interior Minister, foreseeing his continued impact on law enforcement.
Addressing Inspector General of Police, IGP Seedy Muctar Touray, Njie reiterated her commitment to upholding human rights and the rule of law, pledging relentless support within the force.
“Now, as you assume the esteemed position of Interior Minister, I am confident that your vision and wisdom will continue to shape the future of law enforcement in our country. To the Inspector General of Police, IGP Seedy Muctar Touray, I once again extend my heartfelt congratulations and assure you of my relentless support in whatever capacity I serve within the force to ensure respect for human rights and uphold the rule of law,” she expressed.
Njie also acknowledged the steadfast support and cooperation from both Gambians and non-Gambians, praising their resilience and unity, which have been crucial in overcoming challenges.
“Your trust, cooperation, and constructive feedback have been invaluable in shaping our policies and initiatives. It is your resilience and spirit of unity that continue to propel us forward in the face of challenges. To my colleagues, friends, and family, your unwavering encouragement and understanding have sustained me through the highs and lows of public service. Your sacrifices and unwavering support have not gone unnoticed, and I am deeply grateful for your steadfast presence in my life,” she added.
