A bereaved mother, Jola Sawaneh of Kunkujang has lamented the death of her 14-Year-Old son, Lamin Jassey, fondly called ‘Bakebba’.
Lamin reportedly died from the injury he sustained, after his playmate [name withheld] ‘jokingly’ stabbed him with a pair of scissors on his stomach.
The sad incident occurred last night [Sunday] in Kunkujang. According to the weeping mother, the playmate claimed to have been joking with Lamin, when he stabbed him, which subsequently led to his death.
“He [playmate] stabbed my son with a pair of scissors on his stomach. We rushed him to the hospital, and he was given some medicine, but the next day morning [Monday] he died,” the bereaved mother explained.
When asked what she would do about the death, she said in tears: “For this incident, I am the loser, I am the loser.”
Jola is deeply saddened by Lamin’s death who lost his father when he was just one-year-old.
The late Lamin was a seventh year grade student at Saint Charles L’wanga Upper Basic School in Faji Kunda, but he lived with his mother in Kunkujang; while his playmate is a pupil of another school in the West Coast Region.
