Gambia Football Federation (GFF)’s 1st Division, sponsored by the online marketplace, Baluwo, has published its weekend match results.
Bakau’s Steve Biko opened their campaign with maximum points against the newly promoted PSV Wellingara side on Sunday 8th January 2023 at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.
Steve Biko’s young striker, Adama Bojang scored the only goal in the 32nd minute to secure all three points in the game for his side.
PSV Wellingara, the newly promoted side, made several attempts to level the score, but could not find the back of the net for an equalizer. The game eventually ended in a one-to-zero score in favor of Steve Biko.
Meanwhile, Brikama United suffered heartbreak after Team Rhino came from behind to beat them 2:1 at the Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Brikama took the lead in the 12th minute of the match with a goal from Mustapha Drammeh’s spot kick. But that jubilation didn’t last long after Ebrima Sambou and Alhagie Sallah scored for Team Rhino, clinching all three points against Brikama United.
In today’s kick-off, Fortune FC would play against Banjul United. While Gambia Armed Forces FC would also battle it out against Real De Banjul.
