President Adama Barrow suggests the recycling of waste into organic mature as a definitive solution to the menace pose by the infamous Bakoteh dumpsite.
On his way to Buffer Zone for a grand meeting as part of the ongoing nationwide tour, the President made a brief stop at the dumpsite to acquire first hand information about the state of the waste disposal ground. Upon inspecting the area, the President was visibly disturbed about the deteriorating situation of the place and the danger it poses to the immediate community.
“This time we must be ready to tackle the problem “, he said.
Giving that the dumpsite is in the centre of the community, the President called for a national consultative exercise as soon as possible to find a definitive answer to the environmental hazard it poses.
Lord Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council, Talib Ahmed Bensouda, who led the conducted tour, said the President made history by being the first sitting president to enter the Bakoteh dumpsite.
