APRC faction (No To Alliance Movement) has sought the intervention of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to resolve the internal conflict between them and the main party.

“…I wish to book for an appointment with you (IEC Chairman) to discuss pertinent issues surrounding the APRC political impasse with my team to ensure reaching a common ground and waiting for your swift response,” the faction said in the letter soliciting the intervention of IEC.

The faction looks forward to hearing from IEC, adding that the commission’s “interventions and impartiality will help mitigate the long standing impasse”, the dispatch added.

The faction shared this in a dispatch dated 15th August 2022, informing the public of the letter they sent to the IEC on 13th May 2022.

The APRC “No To Alliance Movement” and the Tombong Jatta led APRC have been in conflict since the latter went into coalition with the National People’s Party. As a result, the former in the April parliamentary election put up independent candidates in the 5 constituencies of the Foni; previously won by the main APRC.
