The Senegalese Ambassador to The Gambia, Bassirou Sène has faulted his fellow Senegalese who is alleged to have killed a Gambian in Sanyang village, recently.

“The reality is, the Senegalese is wrong on what he did. He broke into someone’s house. He entered a place he supposed not to; took something he shouldn’t take; and he was seen instead of running, he stood and killed one person and wounded another.”

Diplomat Sène took the opportunity to apologise to Gambians for the incident and said his country will act on the matter.

“Is very painful, but I will say sorry to all Gambians and the Government of The Gambia. The authorities in Senegal will also take their stand on this.”

Meanwhile, on Monday a Senegalese national is alleged to have killed a 30 year old Gambian, Gibriel Ceesay. The incident led to a violent protest by the youth of Sanyang.  The protest resulted in a clash between them and the police. According to the Gambian Red Cross Society, 23 people sustained injury from the protest who were later rushed to Sanyang hospital.
