Alleged Access Bank Robber Arrested in Guinea-Bissau

The Gambia Police Force has confirmed the arrest of Ansu Jarju, a Gambian national suspected of involvement in the Access Bank robbery in Brusubi. Jarju was apprehended in Guinea-Bissau and has since been handed over to Gambian authorities through bilateral security cooperation to facilitate his extradition and prosecution.

“Authorities in Guinea-Bissau have arrested Ansu Jarju, a Gambian national, in connection with the Access Bank robbery in Brusubi. The suspect has been handed over to The Gambia Police Force through security bilateral, to ensure his swift extradition and prosecution,” the police announced.

The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the police investigation into recent armed robberies in the country. Law enforcement officials have been actively pursuing suspects linked to these crimes, including the recent arrests of two individuals accused of robbing El Hella Shop on Hagan Street, Banjul.

The Gambia Police Force continues to intensify its efforts to bring all perpetrators to justice and ensure public safety.
