The Programme Coordinator, Gambia College Basse Campus, Matarr Ceesay has denied a viral allegation that one of their students fainted due to hunger.

“That is not true,” Matarr Ceesay replied when asked about the viral allegation that one of their students fainted due to hunger.

“I saw the photo that is shared online. Someone called me around that time. I went to verify but I found the student inside the class. It (student fainted) happened in the morning. They went to the hospital, but it was confirmed that the girl has gastric. It was not hunger because they have their food arrangements here; and they took their lunch not long ago. It’s very interesting. When you have gastric, it’s normal when you eat anything that has pepper, it gives you issues,” the Basse College Campus Programme Coordinator concluded.

Earlier on Thursday, a photo of a female student of the campus emerged on social media suggesting that she fainted due to hunger.
