Banjul International Airport has opened for business barely a day after it closed operations due to a technical problem which grounded a Polish aircraft on its runway on Tuesday.
Due to the problem, all flights bound for The Gambia have been either diverted to Dakar or were cancelled.
Airport sources said Enter Air flight bound for the U.K. had its tyres busted on the runway just before take-off, forcing the authorities to shut down the runway.
At an emergency press conference on Wednesday, presidential adviser Mai Fatty told journalists that the problem is expected to be solved and Airport will be open for business within 48 hours.
However, the authorities were able to move the plane and restored normal services. SN Brussels flight has just landed this evening, our source said.
