AFCON 2021 Day 3: Sierra Leone Holds Defending Champions Algeria To Goalless Draw

The Lone Stars of Sierra Leone held the defending champions of Africa, Algeria, to a goalless draw in their AFCON 2021 opener. 

Despite controlling the game and creating numerous goal-scoring chances, The Desert Foxes of Algeria failed to score the Lone star goalkeeper Mohamed N. Kamara who won the Man of the Match award. 

Algeria had 66% of the possession with 19 shots and 8 shots on target in the game; while Sierra Leone got 34% of the possession with 8 shots and only 1 on target throughout the 90 minutes. 

The Lone stars of Sierra Leone will face the Elephants of Ivory Coast in their second game of the tournament on Sunday 16 January 2022. 

While the Desert Foxes of Algeria will face the National Thunder of Equatorial Guinea on Sunday 16 January 2022.
