Kemesseng Jammeh, an executive member of the United Democratic Party, has been relieved of his position as the ambassador of Gambia to Turkey, Kerr Fatou has learned.
Jammeh was appointed ambassador to Turkey when UDP leader Ousainou Darboe was appointed Foreign Affairs Minister in 2017.
It is not clear why Jammeh was fired but there has been an increasing tension between President Adama Barrow and his former party, UDP.
The tension between the two political camps reach its peak few months ago when Barrow fired the entire leadership of the UDP from cabinet.
