The National Assembly Member for Brikama North Constituency, Hon. Alhagie S. Darboe has recoiled at the comments made by the Minister of Information, Hon. Lamin Queen Jammeh, that he should apologise to the President; with a reminder that this is not the Jammeh era.

“Tell Queen that we are no longer in Jammeh’s era. I did not make any bad statement about the president that I should apologise for,” the Brikama North NAM responded.

“Queen Jammeh didn’t respond to me, he just made a statement. This is what he is good for. He did the same thing for Yahya Jammeh too. At some point during Jammeh’s rule, he advocated to have him crowned King. That kind of person cannot lecture me on the meaning of democracy, or who Adama Barrow is? Can he tell me about anything Adama Barrow? Telling me to apologise to Adama Barrow for speaking the truth? Adama knows whatever I say is the truth. It is just today, but yesterday I was Adama’s personal adviser.

“And my advice is what he is enjoying today. It is left for him to accept or not, but I will keep telling him the truth. The entire country knows there is tribalism in the country. What I said was people can visit our leaders with their problems, but they should not visit them because of tribe. The State House should not be that kind of place. Lamin Queen Jammeh should have advised the president to listen to what I said because it is the truth,” he concluded.

The spokesperson of the National People’s Party (NPP) who is also the Minister of Information, Lamin Queen Jammeh recently asked Hon. Alagie S. Darboe to apologise to president Adama Barrow when the NAM advised the president from slicing and dicing the country along tribal lines with invitations to tribal groups to visit the president at state house.
