The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Pharaohs of Egypt, seven (7) times champions of the Africa Cup of Nations 1-0.

The Super Eagles Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored the only goal in the 30th minute of the game.

Both sides created numerous goal-scoring chances in either half of the game. But the game produced only Iheanacho’s first-half goal.

Despite having 57% of the possession in the game, the Pharaohs were only able to register 4 shots of which only 2 were on target. While the Super Eagles enjoyed 43% of the possession, registering 15, shots of which 5 were on target.

Elsewhere, the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau were held to a goalless draw by the Falcons of Jediane of Sudan.

Guinea Bissau were awarded a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. But their No: 10 Pele’s shot from the 12 yards was saved by the Sudanese goalkeeper Ali Abu Eshrein in the 82nd minute.

The Sudanese goalkeeper later went on to win the man of the match award, following the footstep of the Sierra Leonean goalkeeper, Muhamed Camara on the same day.
