Hon. Ceesay Says The Race Is Between UDP And GDC, Excludes NPP
By Buba Gagigo
The Spokesperson of the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) has said that the race for the December polls lies between the United Democratic Party and the Gambia Democratic Congress.
“We have already won this election. Adama Barrow is no more part of it. The race is between UDP and GDC. The analysis is very simple. In 2016, APRC had 40% of the votes. GDC had 17% of the votes. Let’s assume that 10% of the 40% of the APRC have joined other political parties. Let’s say the 17% of the GDC has added to 20%. Then the 30% of the APRC plus the 20% of the GDC that is straight. So there is no doubt that we (GDC) will win this election,” Omar Ceesay told Kerr Fatou on the Kunta Kinteh Ferry at the commencement of the GDC nationwide campaign.
Ceesay is the National Assembly for Niamina East under the Gambia Democratic Congress ticket.
The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) has recently signed a coalition agreement with the Gambia Action Party (GAP) whose leader was suspended from the party, following his endorsement of President Adama Barrow. Prior to the signing of the alliance, the Gambia Democratic Congress first signed an alliance with the ‘APRC No To Coalition Movement’.
