The leader of the Gambia action party Musa Yali Batchilly has urged president Adama Barrow to consult former president Yahya Jammeh for advice on governance.

“Jammeh is well experienced. He did good and bad things- even bad things he did some [are] visible, but others are just hearsay. A president [Barrow] should not listen to everything. You should have a veto power and act. the Gambia needs a civilised decorator,” Batchilly stressed.

Speaking in a one on one with interview kerr fatou, GAP leader said Jammeh has almost 30 years of governance experience (22 years of ruling and 8 years with late president Jawara); and shouldn’t have been even allowed to leave the country.

Batchilly insisted that Barrow needs Jammeh’s advice on governance because of his experience.

“I’m not saying Jammeh to come, but he [Barrow] should call him [Jammeh] and discuss with him [Jammeh]…call Jammeh let him give you the blue print,” Batchilly insisted.

Former president Jammeh has ruled The Gambia for 22 years, after toppling the democratically elected PPP government under first president Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara in July 1994. But he was defeated at polls in 2016 by little-known coalition candidate Adama Barrow. Initially, he conceded defeat, but later contested it a week later before he was cede power to the president elect and his subsequent flee to Equatorial Guinea , where he currently lives in exile.
