Yahya Sonko, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Gambia Refugees’ Association (GRA) in Germany has in a video, confirmed to Kerr Fatou earlier today deportation of at least 20 Gambians living in Germany.
He revealed that ‘some boys’ (referring to potential deportees) in Germany have confirmed to him their deportation later today.
Mr Sonko added that a parent in Brikama also confirmed to him that he (parent) got information that his son will be deported today.
“I called both Ministries responsible for the deportations, but they never replied as usual. Immigration Department PRO said he can’t confirm if there will be arrival of deportees,” GRA PRO said.
Although he said the deportees are due in The Gambia at 4pm local time today; but he couldn’t ascertain the reason for their deportation.
The Ministry of foreign affairs couldn’t be reached for comment at the time of publication.
