Parliament to Commence First Ordinary Session on March 3rd

The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly has announced, through a press statement, that the First Ordinary Session of the 2025 Legislative Year will run from March 3rd to March 28th, 2025.
According to the statement, His Excellency President Adama Barrow will deliver the State of the Nation Address (SoNA) on March 20th, 2025. This will be done in accordance with Section 77 (1) of the 1997 Constitution and Order 24 of the Standing Orders of the National Assembly.
Attendance to the SoNA inside the Assembly Chambers will be strictly by invitation. However, the outdoor tents will be open to the general public.
The statement further highlighted that Honorable Members will deliberate on key government business, including the Second Reading of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia (Promulgation) Bill, 2024, oral question sessions for Honorable Ministers, reports from various committees and parliamentary delegations, as well as motions and bills.
The daily sittings will commence promptly at 10:00 a.m. The Office of the Clerk has urged all interested attendees to obtain admittance beforehand. Additionally, members of the public are reminded to adhere to the standard dress code—traditional attire or suits are required—and to observe silence during the proceedings.
