Gambia Police Force Proceeds with Court Action in Salifu Keita Murder Case

The Gambia Police Force has announced that it has taken legal action in connection with the alleged murder case involving Salifu Keita.
In a press statement, the police revealed that the case concerns the death of Abdoulie Badjie of Tumgina, who reportedly died after sustaining injuries during a fight on February 16, 2025. According to the report, Badjie allegedly slipped and fell during the altercation, lost consciousness, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The suspect, Salifu Keita, was arraigned before Magistrate I.O. Njai at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on a single count of murder. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Following a prosecution application, the court ordered Keita’s remand at Mile II Central Prisons pending the transfer of the case to the High Court for further proceedings.
