Gina Bass wins 60m women final in Dusseldorf Indoor
Gambia’s track and field queen Gina Bass, on Tuesday won the 60m women’s sprint final in IAAF World Athletics indoors game in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The 24-year-old speed to a massively impressive timing of 7.61 seconds, breaking her personal best.
Gina Bass dominated the final of the race in front of the Swiss runner Ajla del Ponte, who finished 7.27 seconds
Gina Bass, who is already qualified to the 2020 Olympic Games Tokyo, Japan is Africa’s fastest in 200m after beating the Ivorian and Africa’s fastest sprinter Marie-Josee Ta Lou
The president of the Gambia Athletic Association Dodou Cappi Joof, in an interview expressed delight for the latest achievement of Gina Bass, adding that Miss Bass is a hardworking athlete.
He added that Gina is not only making The Gambia proud but also making Gambia popular in the area of athletics.
